An environmental and climate education program that takes place with and in schools and aims to train people capable of contributing innovative solutions to mitigate climate change.

The program has theoretical and practical content structured in 3 learning cycles, covering all segments of basic education:

The planning and implementation of activities for all learning cycles begins with the diagnosis of the needs of the school community, collective planning and establishment of results.

All learning cycles have weekly activities, which can be carried out outdoors through activities that seek to promote bonds and care for people and the environment.

Early childhood education

A seedbed is the place where we germinate seeds so that they can develop strong, healthy and supported. It is a place of care and observation.

And so is our environmental education program.

Children who at this point in their lives are used to being cared for and assisted are now also invited to understand and practice caring for others and the environment.

Through the school garden, our central educational element, children have the opportunity to follow everything from the germination of seeds to the harvesting of food that will be used for school snacks. This learning will be the basis for deepening ecological and socio-environmental concepts that are extremely important for understanding the world in the future.

Escola Floresta seeks to promote the experience and understanding of environmental concepts, fundamental to understanding the effects of climate change on the environment and society.

The program leads students to understand the complexity of forests by carrying out scientific experiments, where they work out how they can contribute and intervene socio-environmentally in the city.

To close this learning cycle, students promote a reforestation effort in a deforested area of the city, planting tree seedlings that they studied and cultivated throughout the year in their school nursery.

The Permaculture School program aims to develop climate leaders. Using permaculture and agroecology tools, students develop innovative and sustainable solutions to mitigate the effects of climate change, through debates and case studies.

Students are invited to reflect and think of solutions to climate issues, thus developing the “green skills” that are fundamental for college and the job market, such as developing creative solutions and leadership development.

How about we sow new climate leadership together?
