Esperançar is a Cycle of Debates that aims to promote reflection and the integration of knowledge. Members of the scientific community, popular movements and educators are invited to share their knowledge and experiences on the themes of each meeting.
The 3rd edition is part of the asynchronous activities calendar of the International Course on " Environmental Education "
Community-Based and Political Ecology in Latin America - Utopias, Hopes and Praxis in the Paulo Freire centenary" , carried out by GEASur - UniRio in partnership with FioCruz and an extensive and beautiful network of organizations.
PermaLab is composing the week’s program by offering this Cycle of Debates on the theme: Environmental Education from the South: experiences, interfaces with health, insurgencies and hopes. To foster the space for exchange, we invite the following participants:
Alice Franco - Quilombo Dona Bilina
Susana Padrão - Nutrition Association of the State of Rio
Ana Santos - Integration Center in Serra da Misericórdia
Lucas Fernando- NGO Verdejar and Cultural Rescue Engenho da Rainha
Alice Franco is a poet, cultural animator, psychologist and quilombola member of the Dona Bilina Quilombola Remnants Association.
Ana Santos is an educator and culinary expert in the Terra Prometida favela in the Penha Complex. Co-founder of the Serra da Misericórdia Integration Center (CEM), she advocates for food sovereignty and security.
Suzana Padrão is a nutritionist, educator and director of the Nutrition Association of the State of Rio de Janeiro. She works in the areas of collective nutrition, food and nutritional security and the human right to adequate food.
